We are back with yet another wanderlust inspiring issue and this time our cover star is a young talent for whom travel is her source of inspiration. We are delighted to bring you a true powerhouse of a performer and entrepreneur: Ananya Birla. For this issue, we knew there was no one better than Birla to give you travel goals and help you make the most of the season. We spoke to her about her days in England and all her memorable trips. We hope you take a page from her travel book and jet-set to a destination of your choice.

But it’s not only Ananya Birla who will inspire your travel dreams. We have curated a host of travel stories and listicles that are guaranteed to ignite your wanderlust. Imagine vacationing like James Bond at iconic hotels where the legendary Bond film franchise was shot, or finding ultimate solitude at exclusive private island resorts. If an adrenaline rush is what you seek, our list of dive resorts will thrill those who crave underwater adventures. Oh and we’ve also pinpointed locations where you can witness the raw power of an active volcano up close to see the marvel that our Earth is. For those who prefer serene and picturesque scenes, we’ve handpicked postcard-worthy destinations in Denmark and Italy, perfect for creating lasting memories in the lap of luxury and stunning photo opportunities.

And last but certainly not least, we’ve rounded up the best in travel style to help you navigate your vacay fashion with ease and flair. So, get ready to showcase your finest looks for a holiday that will be truly memorable and stylish.

Travelling has time and again fueled our imagination by giving us a chance to explore new cultures, landscapes, and experiences that have expanded our perspectives and inspired our creativity. Each vacation, travel experience, or even a short sojourn has been crucial in sparking ideas and igniting our sense of wonder. We love sharing the stories we have gathered after visiting each city. In essence, travel serves as a catalyst for imaginative thinking, and with this issue, we hope you experience the same joy as we do.

Cheers!

After a few months of hiatus, we are absolutely thrilled to be back! Many of you may be wondering what we’ve been up to during this time. Well, we’ve been on quite the adventure, travelling from New York to Lake Como and London to Los Angeles, and now we find ourselves in Cannes as we write this editor’s note. We are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful and scenic places in the world, even if it means our work takes us there. Travelling has always been a source of inspiration for us. It not only fuels our creativity but also allows us to immerse ourselves in local cultures, which we love to incorporate into our designs.

After globetrotting for the first few months of the year, we are excited to bring you an issue that is packed with stories, places, and hidden gems from around the world. Whether it’s listing hotels where famous films were shot (we always make it a point to visit one of our favourite film’s hotels whenever we are in the city) or highlighting beautiful castle hotels and luxurious brand hotels, we’ve got you covered. We understand the importance of hotels in your travel experience. While exploring a city is exciting, coming back to a comfortable and inviting hotel is equally important. This is why we have extensively covered some of the best hotels with the most unforgettable experiences around the world. Luxurious travel also means having the perfect style statement to go along with it. That’s why we have included a few fashion pages highlighting the trends you should be looking out for when packing your bags for your next vacation. In addition to travel and fashion, we have also taken a deep dive into some of the properties we’ve recently stayed at, such as Villa Pliniana in Lake Como or The Lanesborough in London. Each of these places epitomises hospitality at its finest.

To wrap things up, we have an editorial shot at the beautiful Lake Como, featuring the Falguni Shane Peacock resort collection under the summer sun. So, what are you waiting for? We’ve got your travel wardrobe and a destination ready for you. Make the most out of it!

Cheers!

A mindless scroll on Instagram can do wonders sometimes, and in our case—it did by giving us a theme for this issue. We often find ourselves reflecting on the incredible role that celebrities today play in shaping their fan’s wanderlust. Their adventures, destinations, and one-of-a-kind experiences have the power to inspire and ignite all their followers’ travel dreams. That’s why, in this issue, you’ll discover a treasure trove of articles dedicated to your favourite stars—right from the resorts they resort to for vacationing to their palatial mansions where they like to put their feet up!

In today’s world, luxury and travel are becoming synonymous. We’re witnessing a shift towards experiencing the world not just as tourists, but as connoisseurs of everything opulent. Luxury travel, with its emphasis on exclusivity and comfort, is undeniably the next big trend. From lavish spa resorts to luxe private jets, we’ve curated the ultimate guide to travelling in style.

Recently, we chanced upon exploring Courchevel, a true winter wonderland nestled in the French Alps. The pristine snow-covered slopes, luxurious Cheval Blanc hotel, and world-class skiing experiences left us in awe. Read our travelogue as we share our adventures and insider tips with you, in the hope that you’ll be inspired to make Courchevel your next winter destination.

But it’s not just about destinations; it’s also about how you travel. That’s why this issue boasts a plethora of articles and style pages that are bound to scale up your travel game. But it is our cover star of the issue, the wonderful Vaani Kapoor—who tells us and now you, what the real joy of travelling feels like. The actor talks to us about her childhood days, her trips from all over the world and gives us a glimpse of how she plans and packs for her vacation and workation (a portmanteau of work+vacation). We hope Kapoor’s travel tidbits and this issue’s stories sparks your wanderlust and leaves you with a strong desire to explore the world, all while doing so luxuriously.

Safe travel(s) and happy reading!

‘Travel more’ was one of the first things we jotted down when we set out to make our resolutions for 2023. Sure, resolutions are a passé and half of them go for a toss by the end of January itself—but for us, resolutions, especially those related to travel, make us want to look forward to the rest of the year with a renewed zeal and get into the lovely hustle of planning.

Naturally, when we started planning this issue, we wanted the pages to reverberate with the enthusiasm that we had in our hearts. We wanted to create an issue that would sort your travel plans for the coming months.

In a first for the magazine, it’s the destination that’s the hero to make it to the cover. Our recent rendezvous with Kashmir cast a spell on us, and now we’re in awe of everything that makes Kashmir the paradise on earth that it is. The Dal Lake and Gulmarg have long been known as tourist destinations. But what one doesn’t know is that both of them are poetry in themselves, waiting to unfold and be witnessed. We give you a glimpse of these two beauteous locales through our cover story.

In sync with this thought, we delve into the vibrant cultural landscape of Goa via an avant-garde fashion editorial giving a glimpse of Falguni Shane Peacock’s innovative resort-wear line. We also explore some exciting destinations around the world that take you everywhere from the best rooftop bars in the world to the most luxurious underwater restaurants. In between are in-depth articles that talk about frame-worthy skylines around the world, chic karaoke bars in NYC and restaurants owned by your favourite celebrities!

Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or just starting out, we hope that this issue will inspire you to plan your next adventure. We are confident that our travel-inspired fashion layouts and ‘TPM Hearts’—a destination-based curation of must-haves—will pique your interest and make you want to start planning your next vacation already.

Like every issue, this one too strives to bring you the most interesting and inspiring travel stories, while we continue to look for new ways to augment the experience we offer. Expect to witness glimmers of hope, serenity and dazzle shining through the pages. From deep diving into the best cafés in Paris to listing holiday homes owned by our favourite celebrities that you, too, can book via Airbnb to putting together a travel trend report for the year—the content strives to meet your luxury travel and lifestyle needs.

This year, we plan to keep altering, innovating and challenging the magazine’s benchmark. Whether you seek a fantastical escape, a sustainable sojourn, a glam getaway or tough terrains, we resolve to bring you the best of travel ideas, trends and themes. Until then, here’s wishing you a renewed zeal and enthusiasm to seek the unknown and explore the world.

Cheers!

ON THE OCCASION OF OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY…

From the first issue of the Travel Peacock Magazine in August ’21 to the first anniversary issue, from travelling amidst COVID-19 restrictions to now having the luxury of going anywhere in the world — we’ve come a long way. Time flies but still it changes so much during its course. However, change is inevitable and, in our opinion, the only way to move forward in life. It is with this underlying thought that we present Travel Peacock Magazine’s first anniversary issue in a new avatar. While the essence of the magazine is still the same, it is the content and the design that has been revamped.

Our cover stars for the issue, too, are faces that are a fresh whiff of unconventionality. Our first cover star is an actor who made some striking moves in the beginning of her career and still continues to do so. We’re talking about ‘The Exceptional Star’: Radhika Apte. Following close is our second cover star — an actor whose debut made a lot of noise that still hasn’t died down — thanks to his praiseworthy performances in every film ever since. We bring you the man of the moment–Siddhant Chaturvedi. Both Apte and Chaturvedi talk candidly about the traveller in them and why it is an integral part of who they are. (Don’t forget to watch these eclectic stars play a fun rapid fire with us to talk all-things-travel.) Apart from the cover stories, several eminent personalities share travelogues that will help you plan and pack for the destinations featured. We round up with some style pages and a fashion editorial to keep you updated on the travel style.

We hope you enjoy reading fresh and exquisite travel stories in this renewed version of the magazine. Cheers!

GO PLACES.

As we look forward to the six more to come and reflect on the six months that went by, we’ve realised that we’ve gone places, literally and figuratively. From bringing in the New Year’s Eve at Alila Bishangarh Fort in Rajasthan to a quick sojourn to Dubai and our recent 20-day stay in our home turf of the West – New York, we’ve made the most of our travel time, completing the quota of going places literally. As for figuratively, travel brought about another dimension in our perspective. It made us connect with our deeper selves, pushed us to stop and smell the roses on the way and ponder upon the true meaning and essence of what life actually is.

Marcel Proust quotes, ‘The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.’ Nothing could have been truer as we set off to New York – a place we call home, after a hiatus of two years. Every time we’re in the Big Apple, we resolve to scan the city with a fresh pair of eyes. And each time, we fall in love with it all over again. This time, though, on our agenda was the cover shoot of the May-June ’22 issue with Bollywood’s Wonder Boy – Ishaan Khatter. The young actor believes in making the right moves always, be it in films or breaking into a jig. Khatter, while speaking to the magazine, talks about how his travel has shaped him up, especially in his formative years, to make him the well-rounded individual that he is now.

Along with the cover story, we have travel-inspiring articles and travel stories of eminent personalities from all walks of life narrating their experiences, that will make you want to take your next vacation or strike off a thing or two from your bucket list sooner than later. The fashion editorial with Hollywood model-actor Samantha Lockwood and the style pages with the latest picks build a stylish sartorial story for your next getaway. After all, you may be travelling in silence, but it turns you into a storyteller.
So, go places.

JAN/FEB/MAR 2022 | EDITORS NOTE

New Year’s Eve is always a special milestone, indeed. Not only because it marks the beginning of a brand-new year, but also because the spirits are renewed, new resolutions are made, to-do lists are upgraded, and some of the old ones are renewed, refurbished or recycled. For us though, in the current times, New Year’s Eve has gone on to being from all about partying to now staying within the confines of our home, surrounded by warm conversations in the company of our dear family. If earlier conversations were more about what work goals do we need to check off, they are now replaced by how we are going to live every moment like there’s no tomorrow. Needless to say, our to-do list has ‘travelling’ at the topmost. A new city or a new country almost every month on our agenda isn’t just about striking off the vacation bucket list. It is now about garnering new experiences, meeting new people, eating the local cuisine and even staying back for a day or two till our hearts are filled to its brim.

One such vacation experience of ours was when we’d visited the Maldives to shoot our gorgeous cover star Ananya Panday. The ‘Star of the Millennials,’ Panday is an avid traveller whose aim from every trip of hers is to soak in the true essence of the city she is in. Panday’s high-energy and bring-it-on attitude ensured that the shoot didn’t feel like one but more like a vacation. We caught up with her for a quick conversation where she revealed the traveller in her. Up next, we have multiple eminent personas from various walks of life who set some serious travel goals for us when they travelled last year. We got them to tell us their story and throw in a tip or two on how to plan a vacation when you visit that respective city.

Our travel diaries of 2021 had a special moment when we headed to Agra to shoot at the wonder of the world, Taj Mahal. The city, its vibrancy, the palatial resorts, people and the delectable food will be remembered and revisited and the next given chance. Helping you make your travel plans better are our articles that sift through some of the best resorts around the world, lists down the view-worthy hotels in Paris, mountain resorts from across the world for the breathtaking views, etc. With the ongoing wedding season unfolding in full fervour, Falguni Shane Peacock brings out their best Lehengas which you ought to pack for a royal wedding in the palaces of Rajasthan. Helping you put together some of the best looks are the fashion layouts that comprise all-things-latest style wise. Rounding up, we have a fashion editorial shot by ace lensman Vaunn Yevo that showcases the best of Falguni Shane Peacock pret wear.

In this new year, we resolve to bring you more travel stories and foolproof plans for you to experience what we did. We hope, this year, you travel more and savour life a little more! Here’s wishing you a very happy new year! Cheers!

AUG/SEP/OCT 2021 | EDITORS NOTE

Firsts, debuts and inaugural moments of any journey are special. Undoubtedly, it is the same for us as we bring you the first edition of the Travel Peacock Magazine. This magazine is born out of our love for travelling and everything about it. After preserving memories of all the travels that we took together, we realised we needed to tell these stories. Stories about beautiful landscapes, stories about the people you meet along the way, stories about warm hosts and hospitality, stories about the local cuisine that deserves love, recognition and preservation, and many such stories about little things like sunrise and sunsets, flowers, nature, etc. We had fun recalling our travel experiences from the places we visited recently and making a list of places we recommend you to visit. Apart from our stories, we have our friends and avid travellers unravel their travel experiences and give us travelling and packing advice for the destination they visited. Next up, we have fashion layouts that cover everything, right from a spotless vlogging camera to a travel-sized sunscreen that you would need to pull off the perfect vacation. Rejoice, for there’s also ‘TPM Hearts’, a recco list of our favourites that we put together. We quite heart them, literally!

In the nick of time, before the second lockdown hit us, we travelled to Meghalaya with our cover star Triptii Dimri. The actor has tasted success early on in her career, be it via her viral video on social media or her performances in her movies. As the issue revolves around our travel escapades to the mountains, who better than the mountain child Triptii to be on the cover of our inaugural cover. Triptii recollects her favourite childhood memories of her summer vacation at her native village, her first solo trip and her travel must-haves as she poses away at the picturesque landscapes. Taking a quick detour of the capital city of Shillong, we witnessed the making of handlooms by the weavers. Textile is one of Meghalaya’s crucial industries, we are told by the honourable chief minister of the state, Conrad Sangma. A conversation with him gave us a picture of this flourishing state headed toward immense development. Rounding up, we have a fashion editorial shot in Mussoorie in our Fall/Winter 2021 collection.

Travel Peacock Magazine will be a potboiler for the latest in architecture and interiors, art, lifestyle, travel and travel stories. We look forward to you enjoying it as much as we did while creating it.

To new beginnings. Upwards and onwards!
